Leading Teams
Purpose of the Intermediate Leadership Course
The SEI Leadership Academy Intermediate Course develops professionals who have mastered self-leadership into credible small-team leaders capable of influencing through example, communication, and accountability. Building on the Foundations level, participants learn to translate priorities into clear, actionable tasks, lead diverse personalities effectively, and guide peers through professionalism and composure. This course strengthens the bridge between disciplined followership and emerging leadership—teaching participants to think critically, communicate expectations clearly, and uphold standards through consistent behavior and moral courage.
Expected Outcomes
Graduates of the Intermediate Course emerge as credible small-team leaders who set the example, reinforce standards, and create trust through disciplined action. They learn to apply structured thinking, provide constructive feedback that improves both performance and behavior, and model the growth mindset they expect from others. These leaders recognize that credibility is earned daily—through professionalism, determination, and perseverance—and that leadership is proven in how they invest in their people. When its principles are applied, the Intermediate level produces leaders who strengthen cohesion, drive execution, and lay the foundation for developing others—preparing them for the advanced demands of organizational leadership.
